Letters to Santa
My Classroom 2014- 2015
My here are some photos of my classroom at the beginning of the this school year. Of course in true teacher style I have made changes to it but, I am proud of it being that it's my 9th classroom in my 7 years of teaching :)

Cookie Time
Just before Thanksgiving we had Character day at my school. As a grade level in 1st grade we decided to dress up as the book "If you give a Mouse a cookie/ Si le das una galleta a un raton". The teachers dressed as the mice and the students of our classes were our cookies. Below is the result.
Fishing for Knowledge!
Me and My Coworker created this cool vocabulary fishing game. The students have their own fishing pole and they take their math journal and go fishing with their pole for the fish that have our math texts vocabulary words pasted to them. They love it! During Math Rotations everyone wants to go to Math vocabulary just so they can go fishing, lol.
(How we did it: We got some $2 magnets from Walmart, some fishing poles & plastic fish from dollar tree, some packing tape and the vocabulary words from our math text because they were small and had a picture. Then we hot glued the magnets to the fishing poles and fish. After that we taped the vocabulary words to the fish with the packing tape.)

We got FUNDED!
It took one month for my Donors Choose project to get fully funded. I can't thank my Donors enough! My class now has 5 i-pod touch's and they have been the best resource to engage and assist my students. So far we have been able to use Raz Kids, practice math fluency and use Dragon dictation to help students write more independently. I can't wait to start using QR Codes to further student learning in so many other manners.
